Session Thirty-Two: GM Commentary

Now that we’re at Windsong Abbey the group has officially passed the halfway point in the Shattered Star AP. It’s taken us about two years of playing 1-2 times a month to get here, so we can expect a conclusion sometime around the end of 2017. I’ve enjoyed it so far, but no one can predict what’ll happen 2 years out and there’s a very good chance that real life will intervene and we’ll never witness the finale of the epic quest. Being old-timey roleplayers, this has happened to us many times before, and ironically it’s usually been me that moves away and ends the campaign. That being said, I’m strangely fixated on being able to actually finish this one. Luckily, today we have fancy internet technology to allow us to play long distance, so I think this campaign has a good chance of going all the way, regardless of real-life demands.

I don’t know why I’m so fixated on this campaign finishing. Maybe I just want to prove that it can be done, or maybe I’m just a stubborn completionist. Maybe it’s because I’ve never been through a a long adventure path like this before, either as a player or GM, and I want the full experience. Whatever it is, I’m not going to give up now, and we’ll have a triumphant holiday season 2017.
