Session Twenty-Seven: GM Commentary

This session was fairly classic dungeon-crawling, with three fights and two traps along a straight path. Maybe not the most complex narratively, but an experience that’s second nature to most old RPG hands. The thing I worried about most from a GM perspective was how to handle the encounter with the naga. She was the final member of the original expedition and the only one not to have been driven insane, and the encounter with her could have gone in any number of unpredictable directions. As it happened, the party attacked and slew her from behind, resolving the situation in the simplest way possible. Well, at least I was ready for other possibilities.

Next session, the party goes over the river and to the woods! Okay, over the river and to the Dark Forest, which is like woods. Spoiler: Grandmother will not be waiting there with Thanksgiving dinner.
