Session Eleven: GM Commentary

This session was mostly devoted to leveling up and buying equipment, since the party wouldn’t be able to resupply in town while searching for the next shard. I did add in a few extra parts for drama, but sometimes role-playing sessions are more bookkeeping and shopping trip than they are epic adventure, particularly in D&D/Pathfinder. When I have new players I try to minimize the non-adventure parts of the game, but these guys are veterans: they can handle it. Actually, I think they enjoy it.

It’s true. We love planning, shopping, developing contacts, and obtaining minions. My wife mocks me for planning my character’s development well in advance, but it’s more fun for me to be working towards goals that are not necessarily plot or power driven.
